It all started with a Red Stripe.......

This is my first of many blog posts, and I thought I would start by introducing myself!

I'm Nicola and I started my floristry journey way back in 2019. I worked in construction, selling construction products for almost 15 years, where I got to a point where I lost myself. My father was diagnosed with terminal cancer and my priorities completely changed.

So whilst on holidays in Jamaica, on Pelican Island drinking Red Stripe, myself and my husband had a heart to heart, I said to him "I can't do this anymore". He replied "I don't care what you do, I want YOU back, be a florist" and with that I booked myself on a course!

I've always been creative and always loved flowers, so my first evening in Ebbw Vale College, I felt at home! I felt like I found my "thing"!

A few courses later and I decided to go for it ! I launched Over the Bloom for Mothers Day 2020........and then we locked down! A month or so later I was browsing through instagram and saw another florist just starting out like me had flowers ! A quick message and the very next day I was down the market buying flowers to give to my family......naturally I shared them on social media and the orders followed.

Since then I have completely more training and really honed my style. Last year I completely 19 weddings along side gift bouquets, workshops and funeral work and have loved every minute of it!

2023 is looking promising with more weddings and a diary full of workshops and I simply can't wait !

Thank you to everyone who has supported Over the Bloom this past few years, it really has warmed my heart. I really never thought I'd be doing this full time.
